Legal Aid - For criminal matters:

Police stations – representation at police stations is not means tested and, as such, there is no charge. If you would prefer to use a senior lawyer we can provide this on a private basis.

In most cases we are pleased to act under a Legal Aid certificate, if you are eligible.


Private  Fees:

For criminal matters that are not eligible for Legal Aid, family matters and wills and probate we offer an hourly rate service and in some circumstances a fixed fee. Our rates are as follows:
Partners rates £180+VAT per hour
Solicitors rates £150+VAT per hour
Clerks rates £90 +VAT per hour

A quote will be provided for all matters.

All options will be discussed with you before commencement of work.


Motoring Offences:

Motoring Offence, guilty plea – The price quoted will be dependent on the type or nature of the case and will vary between £250 to £400 + VAT

Fee includes:
•    2 hours attendance/preparation:
o    considering evidence
o    taking your instructions
o    providing advice on likely sentence
 
•    Attendance and representation at a single hearing at the Magistrates Court
The fee does not include:
•    instruction of any expert witnesses
•    taking statements from any witnesses
•    advice and assistance in relation to a special reasons hearing
•    advice or assistance in relation to any appeal
The key stages of your matter are based on the presumption that you have entered a guilty plea and have a date for your hearing.
•    Meet with your solicitor to provide instructions on what happened.
•    We will consider initial disclosure, and any other evidence and provide advice.
•    Arranging to take any witness statements if necessary
•    We will explain the court procedure to you so you know what to expect on the day of your hearing, and the sentencing options available to the court.
•    We will conduct any further preparatory work, obtain further instructions from you if necessary and answer any follow up queries you have.
•    We cannot provide a timescale of when your hearing will take place, as this depends on the court listing for that day.
•    We will attend court on the day and meet with you before going before the court. We anticipate being at court for [e.g. half a day].
•    We will discuss the outcome with you. If advice is required on appeal, this will carry an additional cost.



Motoring Offence, Trial The price quoted will be dependent on the type or nature of the case and will vary between £500 to £1500 + VAT

Fee includes:

o    considering evidence
o    taking your instructions
o    Taking witness statements
o    instructing experts
o    listening to interview discs
o    providing advice on likely outcome
o    advice in relation to any appeal
o    site visits


•    Attendance and representation at the first hearing, the trial day and if convicted the sentencing hearing

The fee does not include:
•    instruction of any expert witnesses
•    assistance in relation to any appeal

o    Submissions on law 

•    The fee Attendance and representation at a single hearing at the Magistrates Court
